Hope for the Future Page 1

In The Beginning…

Here is the very first page of Hope for the Future, drawn all the way back in 1999. It seems so long ago. The world was ruled by The Phantom Menace, dial up internet and The Vengaboys. Hope for the Future was originally intended to be an inconsequential tale in the fourth issue of Flying Monkey, a comic which was never completed. Instead it went on to become a series, so in that regard it’s a bit like Cerebus, only without the genius and misogyny. Still pretty inconsequential though, if truth be told, but it makes me laugh.

So anyway, here we have the entire series. Enjoy. For those new to our tale, don’t worry, everything will become clear in the upcoming pages. If you can’t wait for the story to unfold, you can always buy the wonderful collected trade paperbacks available in the shop. For the six people who have read it, they can now enjoy Hope for the Future in colour. And tri weekly.
